My transaction failed or is stuck
Quickest fix
Section titled “Quickest fix”Before you send anything again, check whether the first transaction went through:
- Read the message at the bottom of the screen. Click it to see the transaction’s hash and block, and choose View details to open the transaction once it is in a block.
- Open your Portfolio and look in Transactions. A new transaction can take a short while to appear there.
- Send it again only if the message says “No funds moved, you can safely retry”, or if the transaction is missing from your history and your balances didn’t change.
Taoswap cannot cancel a transaction once your wallet has signed it.
What the message means
Section titled “What the message means”“The price moved beyond your limit before execution”
Section titled ““The price moved beyond your limit before execution””A swap through a subnet’s pool carries a price limit, set by your slippage tolerance. The pool’s price moved past that limit before your transaction ran, so the chain refused the swap and nothing was swapped. A transaction refused in a block still pays its network fee.
Try again at the current price. If it keeps happening on a fast-moving subnet, raise Market slippage tolerance a little in Swap Settings, the gear on the swap card. See Swaps and slippage.
“Wallet did not respond to the signature request in time”
Section titled ““Wallet did not respond to the signature request in time””Taoswap waits two minutes for your wallet to answer a signature request, then gives up. Nothing was sent. Open your wallet extension, or your hardware wallet, and send the transaction again.
“A previous transaction of this wallet is still settling”
Section titled ““A previous transaction of this wallet is still settling””Taoswap sends one transaction at a time for each wallet, so that a second one cannot collide with the first. Wait for the first result, then send the next one. After a shielded swap, the message reads “Your previous shielded swap is still settling” and the wait lasts a few blocks.
“Transaction was not included before its era expired”
Section titled ““Transaction was not included before its era expired””A transaction is valid for a limited number of blocks. When no block includes it in time, it expires: “Transaction was not included before its era expired. No funds moved, you can safely retry.” Send it again.
“Status updates stopped”
Section titled ““Status updates stopped””Taoswap lost track of the transaction, usually because the page reloaded or the connection dropped. The message continues: “The transaction may still have completed: check your balance or the chain before retrying.” Check Transactions in your Portfolio and your balances before you send it again.
MEV Shield messages
Section titled “MEV Shield messages”With MEV Shield on, your swap travels encrypted and can take a little longer than a plain one. Each outcome says whether a new attempt is safe:
- “MEV Shield: the swap did not execute. No funds moved, you can safely retry.”
- “The relay missed its 8-block window. No funds moved, you can safely retry or use self-custody MEV Shield.”
- “The relay transaction is out of sight but its window is open until block…” Don’t retry yet. Wait for that block, then check your history.
- “MEV Shield: could not verify the inner transaction (RPC issue). Check your balance before retrying.”
- “The MEV Shield relay is switched off right now, so nothing was signed. Sign again to send it another way.”
When a new attempt is safe, the message may offer Retry. See MEV Shield.
“RPC node is out of sync with the chain”
Section titled ““RPC node is out of sync with the chain””The node Taoswap talks to is behind the chain. Try again in a moment, or open Network status and click an endpoint marked Online to switch to it.
A banner that starts with “Cannot reach the subtensor chain node right now” means the node doesn’t answer at all. Switch endpoint the same way, or wait for it to come back.
“The amount is below the chain’s minimum once fees are taken”
Section titled ““The amount is below the chain’s minimum once fees are taken””The chain refuses a stake or an unstake under its minimum, counted after fees. Enter a larger amount. The button warns you before you sign when an amount is too small.
“This position no longer holds the requested amount”
Section titled ““This position no longer holds the requested amount””Part of the position was swapped or moved after you entered the amount. Reload the page so Taoswap reads your positions again, then enter the amount again.
Other messages
Section titled “Other messages”Other refusals show the chain’s own error name, often followed by its description. Copy that text when you ask for help.
A transaction that looks stuck
Section titled “A transaction that looks stuck”The message at the bottom of the screen shows where the transaction is:
- Signing…: Taoswap is waiting for your wallet. Open the extension, then approve or refuse the request.
- Broadcasting…: the network has the transaction and Taoswap waits for a block. It keeps watching until a block includes the transaction or the transaction expires.
- Dropped: the network dropped the transaction. Check your history and your balances before you send it again.
- A shielded swap shows its steps instead, such as “Step 2/3: Submitted, waiting for the next block…”.
What to send when you ask for help
Section titled “What to send when you ask for help”- The transaction hash: click the message, then click the hash to copy it. The block number helps too.
- Your public address.
- When it happened, and the exact message Taoswap showed.
- Whether MEV Shield was on, and in which mode.
- Your wallet, and whether you use a computer or a phone.
Never send your seed phrase or your wallet password. Then contact support.
